Course Overview

Senior procurement work is leadership work. This module covers management theory (traditional and contemporary), motivating individuals using extrinsic and intrinsic levers, planning effective teams through forming-storming-norming-performing, and aligning procurement knowledge, skills, and behaviours to organisational strategy.

Course Details

Core module · 12 credits · Constructed Response (CR) exam · 3-hour duration. The people-and-leadership foundation for senior procurement. You'll work through organisational behaviour and structure, traditional and contemporary management theory, motivation theories (content and process), job satisfaction dimensions, and the practical work of building effective procurement teams — diversity, virtual working, conflict, and team development.
