Elective module · 90 guided learning hours · Closed-book written examination · 50% pass mark. This elective presents the key generic aspects of transport operations. It provides the basis for professionals in the transport industry to understand the principles of effective, safe, and legal movement of goods and people by the principal modes in a national, regional, and international context. The unit covers the nature of transport, an appreciation of its supply and demand characteristics, and the different ways in which the transport product can be delivered effectively and efficiently. Candidates will be able to relate the general principles to both freight and passenger transport by one or more modes.
