Frequently asked questions

Do I need to complete the CILT Introductory Certificate or Certificate first?

It's recommended but not strictly required. The Diploma is free-standing — candidates with prior logistics or transport work experience can enter directly. Completion of the earlier CILT qualifications gives a strong head start on the management foundations and the elective choices.

How does this lead to MILT membership?

Successful completion of the CILT International Diploma plus a minimum of two years of relevant experience meets the eligibility criteria to upgrade from Student Member to Member (MILT) of the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport.

Which elective and option combination should I choose?

It depends on your sector. For supply chain and warehousing careers: Supply Chain Management elective + Inventory or Warehousing options. For freight and passenger transport: Transport Operations elective + Movement of Goods or Movement of People. For transport policy and planning: Transport Planning elective + Transport Planning Techniques. For procurement and international roles: any elective + Sourcing and Procurement or International Business. Logic Institute's admissions team can help match the combination to your career goals.
