Frequently asked questions
Do I need to complete the CILT Introductory Certificate first?
It is recommended but not required. The International Certificate is free-standing — candidates with prior logistics or transport work experience can enter directly. Completion of the Introductory Certificate gives a strong head start, especially on the management foundations.
How does this lead to MILT membership?
Successful completion of the CILT International Certificate plus a minimum of three years of relevant experience meets the eligibility criteria to upgrade from Student Member to Member (MILT) of the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport.
Which specialism should I choose?
It depends on where you work — or want to work. Warehousing, Inventory, and Supply Chain Operations suit distribution and 3PL businesses. Freight Transport Operations and Port Operations suit logistics and maritime. Passenger Transport Operations and Transport Planning suit public transport. Procurement suits buyers. Green Logistics and Global Logistics are strong choices for anyone working in international or sustainability-focused roles. Logic Institute's admissions team can guide you.
